USA Softball Approved Bats
The official bat for use in USA Softball Championship Play must meet all of the following requirements:
- A bat approved for play in our tournament must bear either the ASA approved 2000 certification mark, the ASA 2004 certification mark, or the ASA 2013 certification mark (slow pitch only) as shown below and must not be listed currently on the USA Softball Non-Approved Bat List even if it has these certification marks, and
- Must be included on the list of approved bat models published by USA Softball, or in the sole opinion and discretion of the umpire, have been manufactured prior to 2000 and if tested, would comply with the ASA bat performance standards then in effect. This includes wooden bats.
- Senior bats are not approved for play in this tournament.
If the tournament is testing USA Softball approved bats, all bats must also meet the USA Softball compression specifications and must not be cracked, dented, and show no signs of excessive wear. Any bat that fails the compression test and/or fails the visual inspection due to its condition, will not be approved for use in this tournament.
